Merlene Fawdry is an award
winning writer and poet, author of
The
Little Mongrel - free to a good home,
and
The
hidden Risks, several books
of poetry. Her short stories and poetry have been published in literary
magazines in Australia and overseas and she is a skilled writing group
and workshop facilitator, and provides an editing, formatting & design
and manuscript print preparation for other writers.
A shy activist, Merlene is committed to giving a
voice to the oppressed through her writing and, with a keen interest in
environmental issues, she uses her poetry to speak out against what she
sees as government endorsed decimation of the environment.
Her interests are in social justice and
reconciliation for all people who have experienced interference in their
lives through legislated power and authority, particularly those who
spent their childhood in the institutions of the last century.
Her professional background includes 25 years working
at the coal face of youth and family services in Victoria, working
proactively towards de-institutionalisation of young people and family
reconciliation. Previously employed within both the public and private
sector of human services, in direct service and in program and policy
reform and development, she has qualifications in Counselling and Small
group Work; Youth Work; Alcohol and Other Drug Work, and a Diploma
of Professional Writing & Editing.

Valleybrook
Wine Tours Itinerary Suggestions
The Tamar Valley Wine Route includes cellar doors
located in the western, eastern and southern areas of the Tamar River .
Valleybrook Wine Tours endeavours to cater to special requests in consultation
with all customers. All areas offer a choice of reds, whites
and sparkling wines.
Travelling time is an issue if more than one region is
chosen and can only be considered on full day tours.
Customers are advised that it is approximately 45
minutes driving time between cellar doors when crossing over the bridge and this
itinerary will reduce the number of cellar door visits. All of the wineries
visited have good quality wines and there is more than enough to choose from to
make for a great day of tasting.
Customer preferences will be considered in an attempt
to provide the most suitable itinerary. Whatever way you do it you are
guaranteed a wonderful trip and will go home happier than when you started out.
